Meet the Dragon Staff -- MICHELLE MENDOZA

MICHELLE MENDOZA has worked in schools on and off for 16 years, and works in the cafeteria at Dawson ISD.  She is from Brownfield, Texas, has lived in Welch for 24 years, and currently lives in Lamesa, where she has resided for 5 years.  She went to school in Brownfield.

Mrs. Mendoza worked with her first husband in a grape vineyard for 20 years.  She then went to work for Pizza Hut for 13 years until she returned to Dawson ISD in 2022.  She loves spending time with family, especially grandbabies – can’t beat that!!

What Michelle loves most about her job is being able to prepare meals for the students.  She has always loved the cafeteria atmosphere.  The cafeteria is her classroom – a place for kids to eat and hang out!!

Something interesting you might not know about Mrs. Mendoza is when she is travelling, she likes to count the cars on a train to see how many it is pulling.  One day she asked her husband if trains get tickets for speeding!!!
