MEET THE DRAGON STAFF -- GARY JONES

GARY JONES is the new superintendent of Dawson ISD, and has been an educator for 33 years.  He grew up in Seminole, and attended both Angelo State University and UTPB.  He has been married to Joy, a retired educator, for 36 years, and they have two sons, two bonus daughters, and two grand-daughters.  Garrison, his wife PJ, and their two daughters Addie and Erin live in Canadian, where Garrison serves as youth minister and worship leader at the First Christian Church, and PJ works at the local museum in art education.  Braeden and his wife Abbie live in Southland.  Braeden coaches, and Abbie is finishing up nursing school at LCU and will soon begin her career as a NICU nurse at Covenant in December.  Mr. Jones has always loved small schools, and the communities that surround them and embrace the kids and their activities.  He is very excited to be a Dawson Dragon, and looks forward to seeing the district continue to grow, improve, and mold successful students both in and out of the classroom.  Mr. Jones loves to fish, and especially loves spending time with his family.  He has also loved being a teacher, coach, principal, and superintendent for 33 years, and looks forward to being a part of all the exciting things happening at Dawson ISD.  The Dragons are really happy to welcome GARY JONES to Dawson!
